The World Photography Organisation launched its first art fair dedicated to fine art photography in Shanghai in September 2014. The PHOTOFAIRS brand was created in 2016 in response to the growing interest in and demand for photography worldwide, and incorporates the newest addition to its roster – PHOTOFAIRS | San Francisco.
PHOTOFAIRS was founded by Scott Gray (CEO, World Photography Organisation) and Sandy Angus (Chairman, Angus Montgomery Arts) and is a subsidiary of the Montgomery Group.
Sandy Angus, CEO of Angus Montgomery Arts, is the Chairman of the World Photography Organisation. A passionate collector, Sandy was the co-founder of the first international art fair in Hong Kong, ARTHK (now known as Art Basel in Hong Kong since its sale in 2012). An innovator in the international industry, Sandy has also founded Art International Istanbul, Art Central HK, Art16 and India Art Fair.

Scott Gray serves as CEO & Founder of both PHOTOFAIRS and World Photography Organisation and has over eighteen years’ experience in the photography, international art fair and event business, working across the world to raise the level of conversation around photography.
In 2007 Gray launched the World Photography Organisation and Sony World Photography Awards, the world's largest photography competition; and in 2014 he founded PHOTOFAIRS, international art fairs dedicated to photography with PHOTOFAIRS |Shanghai, and a second edition PHOTOFAIRS |San Francisco launching January 2017.
