Thank you to all those who joined us at the inaugural edition of PHOTOFAIRS | San Francisco, which drew 11,000 visitors, collectors, and curators to the beautiful Fort Mason Festival Pavilion, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
Drawing on the international reach of participating galleries, the fair showed boutique curation bringing together vintage and blue-chip works alongside cutting-edge contemporary photography.
Distinguished artists in attendance included: Sebastiaan Bremer, Jim Campbell, John Chiara, Christine Elfman, McNair Evans, Paul Graham, Alejandro Guijarro, Todd Hido, Mona Kuhn, Chris McCaw, Sean McFarland, Scott McFarland, Klea McKenna, Wang Ningde, Jacquline Norheim, Meghann Riepenhoff, Kate Stone, Jordan Sullivan, Rodrigo Valenzuela and Noah Wilson.
“For me, the success of the fair is a sign of real understanding and appreciation of the photographic arts.” Noted Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery (New York), 'We felt the fair was extremely successful - placing works with an entirely new clientele, including multiple photographs by Sohei Nishino, in addition to works by Robert Currie and Yorgo Alexopoulos. We see great promise for the fair moving forward!”
We were delighted at the enthusiastic response to the fair, not only via the interactions with the galleries and installations, but also in participation at the on-site talks and off-site VIP events, many of which were standing room only. Thank you to all of you, as well as to our many partners who helped make these programs possible.
We look forward to seeing you next year! Mark your calendars for the second edition of PHOTOFAIRS | San Francisco on January 26-28, 2018.
