The PHOTOFAIRS | San Francisco Public Program is bringing together international figures from the art world to open up the conversation around current trends in contemporary photography and collecting. For further information, please visit the Public Program Page.
Conversations features leading art world experts, artists, curators and collectors in a dynamic program of talks and panels. This program will examine key themes and ideas seen throughout PHOTOFAIRS | San Francisco, and will be announced in its entirety shortly.
Insights | New Approaches to Photography since 2000 will be co-curated by Alexander Montague-Sparey (Artistic Director, PHOTOFAIRS) and local curator Allie Haeusslein (Associate Director, Pier 24 Photography). Insights is a museum-quality exhibition with works for sale at the center of the venue, which will explore a new theme each year in a 200 sqm dedicated space. The inaugural 2017 edition will focus on artists who explore photographic processes in maverick ways, often to produce unique, rather than editioned prints.
The Shanghai edition of Insights | New Approaches to Photography since 2000 was co-curated by Alexander Montague-Sparey (Artistic Director, PHOTOFAIRS) and Biljana Ciric (Independent Curator). The exhibition featured thirteen international artists including Wenhua Shao, Wang Ningde, Shanghai artist duo Birdhead, and Timur Siqin. See further information here.
